While we are looking for great music, we are not rigid on production
standards or musical perfection here. Our emphasis is quality songwriting. We
appreciate and we expect to get a lot of well-produced, radio-ready music, but
we also want to encourage the art aspect - ideas that may not necessarily be in
final form - great performances - original even if somewhat incomplete. IAC is
a center for artist development.
If everything is already in place, and you have an act that's ready
to really hit, that's great, but we are also looking for acts with room to
grow.
What makes IAC better?
As an artist or listener, you're in good company. The quality of
music already on the site surpasses that of any online music site past or
present - including those which are major-label only.
There's an integral Tagboard on every Artist and Station page, which
the artist can choose to display or not. Any taglines posted to the tagboards
may be deleted by the page owner.
There's a Gallery, and pictures uploaded to a page owner's Gallery can be
included in the page Slideshow, which is also exportable anywhere.
The KIAC Player, in which all songplays occur, can also be exported to any page
on the internet.
All artists and personal page owners have the ability to create
Stations and/or have their music on Stations.
There's a great opportunity for inclusion in charts, with a wide
range of main genres where charts become visible as soon as enough songs are
entered into that genre. IAC also provides all Indie content for Cashbox
Magazine's Indie Charts.
Artists receive consideration for a wide range of features: a front
page features rotation, genre features, Interviews, and other special features
all around the site.
IAC provides detailed artist statistics privately, as well as public
charts which are based solely upon legitimate unique (within each calendar
day) plays, with no fudge factors, and no adjustments. What you get, is what
you see.
IAC will provide a direct pathway to radio play for indies in the
mainstream music world with through 24/7 KIAC Radio. While there is no lock on
KIAC airplay for all IAC site artists, all indie bands who do get played will
be IAC artists.
IAC is moving to assure smooth, efficient operation and
the rapid buildup of an artist base with substantial listener traffic.
